Tumaini means hope in Swahili
The Tumaini Project was set up in 2009 by Emma Paton, when she was at university with the goal of raising money for a school in Northern Tanzania.
The aim of the Tumaini Project has changed and expanded since it was first founded and while it still supports the original school, it has expanded to support other projects and the creation of a scholarship fund which is currently sponsoring over 60 children through primary school.
The aim of The Tumaini Project is not only to raise money for projects in Tanzania but also to raise awareness about poverty, education and health standards in Tanzania.
